Cookie Policy

Essential cookies keep you signed in. Everything else is off until you say yes.

Two categories

Essential — always on

Keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choice, securing signup and payments, and protecting the site from bots (via partners like Stripe and Cloudflare). You can't turn these off or the site breaks.

Analytics — only with consent

PostHog and Google Analytics help us see which parts of Revix people use and where things break. They set nothing until you accept in the consent banner. Declining changes nothing about what you can do — the product is fully usable without them.

The consent banner

On your first visit, a banner asks whether we may use analytics. Until you choose, only essential cookies run: Google Analytics is loaded with Consent Mode v2 defaulted to "denied", and PostHog does not start.

  • Accept: PostHog (autocapture, page views, web vitals, error reports, session replay with input fields masked, and AI-generation analytics) and Google Analytics turn on. Once you are signed in, analytics events and session replays are linked to your account.
  • Decline: essential cookies only. Nothing about the product is restricted.
  • Change your mind: the "Cookie settings" link in the footer reopens the banner at any time, so you can withdraw or grant consent whenever you like.

Your choice is stored in the revix_consent cookie for 12 months and mirrored to your account. After 12 months the banner asks again. One thing worth knowing: when analytics is on, PostHog requests are sent to our own domain (a first-party proxy at /ingest) instead of directly to PostHog — this means measurement can still work even if your ad blocker blocks third-party analytics domains. Your consent choice is what turns it off, not the blocker.

The cookies we set

Essential (always on):

  • revix_session — keeps you signed in to Revix.
  • revix_consent — remembers your cookie choice for 12 months.
  • revix_signup_attest — holds your 18+ and terms confirmation during signup; expires after about an hour.
  • preview_token — on our preview site (preview.revix.tech) only; gates access to the staging environment.
  • Clerk cookies — set by our sign-in provider, Clerk, to authenticate you and secure your session.

Analytics (only after you accept):

  • PostHog cookies & local storage — identify your browser across visits so events and session replays connect into one picture; linked to your account once you sign in.
  • Google Analytics (_ga and _ga_*) — distinguish visitors and sessions for Google Analytics.

The site also uses your browser's local storage for preferences and things like a referral code from a link you clicked.

Your Control

Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer to change your analytics choice at any time. Most browsers also let you block cookies in their settings — but if you block everything, you won't be able to log in to Revix because we won't know who you are!
