Terrain and Map Generation

After this page you can ask for a whole world - hills, water, biomes, trees and rocks - in one message, and size it so it finishes quickly instead of grinding for ten minutes.

Plan: every plan, including Free. Cost: no fixed price. A map costs whatever that chat message costs, like any other build request, and you need at least 0.1 credits to start. Needs: Roblox Studio open and connected. Warning: generating a map wipes the terrain that is already there, so do this before you build anything on top of it.

Ask for one

Plain language is enough. There is no form to fill in.

text
generate a snowy mountain world, 800 studs, no water
text
make me an island to build on

One request produces the whole thing: the landscape, the biomes, mountains, cliffs and water, plus the nature scattered on top - trees, saplings, bushes, rocks, foliage, underwater plants, driftwood and the occasional abandoned building.

The nine presets

Name one of these and Revix uses it as the starting point.

PresetWhat you get
BalancedA bit of everything - the safe default
PlainsFlat, open, easy to build on
MountainsBig vertical relief and cliffs
IslandsLand surrounded by water
ArchipelagoMany smaller islands
DesertDunes and dry ground
ForestDense tree cover
TundraCold, sparse, snow
CanyonDeep cut valleys with sharp walls

The eight biomes

Ocean, Beach, Desert, Plains, Forest, Spruce Forest, Snow and Mountain. You can restrict which ones appear: "islands, but no desert anywhere" works.

Options you can just say out loud

You never touch a settings panel. Ask for any of these in the sentence.

  • Size - 100 to 2000 studs. The default is 500.
  • Water level - including none at all. "No water" gives you dry land.
  • How hilly it is - height variation, roughness, how aggressive the mountains are, how sharp the cliffs get.
  • Snow line - how high up the snow starts.
  • Biome patch size - a few big regions, or many small mixed ones.
  • Density - trees, bushes, rocks, foliage, underwater plants and abandoned buildings, each separately. "Sparse trees, lots of rocks" is a valid request.
  • Spacing - how far apart the vegetation sits.
  • A seed - a number that makes a map repeatable. The same seed with the same settings gives you the identical world again, which is how you get a map back after you regenerate over it by mistake. Ask for the seed and write it down.

How long it takes, and what you see

A 500-stud map at full detail finishes in well under a minute. A 2000-stud map at full detail is a quarter of a million columns of ground and takes several minutes.

While it runs you get a live progress report - the stage it is on and a percentage - rather than a frozen chat. Revix waits between two and fifteen minutes depending on the size you asked for.

Two messages you might see, and neither is an error:

  • Still building in Studio, with the last stage and percentage. Generation outlived the wait. Look at Studio - the world is still appearing. Give it a moment, then carry on.
  • Generation may still be running in Studio. Contact with Studio was lost mid-run. Check Studio before you ask for another map, or you will start a second one on top of the first.

For anything large, ask for a coarser detail level and thinner vegetation. Both make an enormous difference to the time and very little to how the map looks from a player's eye height.

Clearing and regenerating

Two things to know.

  • Generating always wipes the existing terrain first. There is no merge. If you have already built structures, they are not terrain and survive, but the ground under them does not.
  • Undo will not reliably rescue you. A whole generated world lands as one or a few undo steps rather than one per rock, so Ctrl+Z can remove a great deal at once - and undoing across a full terrain rewrite is not something to rely on.

To wipe deliberately, ask:

text
clear the map and start over

That fills the terrain with air and removes the nature it planted, across an area you can set from 100 to 8192 studs. The default area is 4096 studs.

What to do afterwards

  1. Look at it before you build. Fly around. Regenerating later is destructive.
  2. Do not ask it to scatter trees afterwards. Revix plants its own nature as part of generation. Asking for more on top gets you a doubled, clumpy forest. Ask for the density you want in the original request instead.
  3. Then build. Spawns, structures, roads and everything else go on after the ground exists. See Your First Chat for the build loop.
  4. Save the place. Nothing Revix does is saved for you - that is still your call, in Studio.
