Game Thumbnail and Icon
By the end of this page you will have a 16:9 thumbnail and a square icon for your experience, downloaded to your computer and ready to put on your game page.
Time: about 5 minutes per image.
Cost: 5 credits per image, editing included. The automatic quality check and its repair pass are free. You are charged up front and refunded in full if the image fails to generate.
Plan: image generation is on the Developer and Studio plans — a free trial counts. On the free plan the option is shown locked with an upgrade prompt. See /store.
You need: the same connected setup as any Revix chat — Studio open with the plugin connected.
What you're building
Two pictures for your experience page: the wide banner people see when they open your game, and the square tile they see in search and on the home feed. Same idea, two shapes, generated one at a time.
Revix will not upload them to Roblox for you. You download the files and put them on your game page yourself.
Step 1 — Send the request to the image generator
There is no mode dropdown. Revix reads each message and decides where it goes, and you can overrule it by starting the message with a command.
- Type
/imageat the start of your message to force it, or - Press the + button beside the composer and pick Image generation, which drops
/imageinto what you have already typed, or - Just describe a thumbnail and let Revix route it — a message like "make a thumbnail for my obby" goes to the image generator on its own.
While Revix is deciding, a small pill appears above the composer reading Deciding next move…. Using /image skips that entirely.
Step 2 — Write a prompt that works
Describe one clear subject, where it is, and the mood. Keep it under 2000 characters.
/image A Roblox character in a red hoodie sprinting across a collapsing lava obby, chunks of stone flying, orange glow from below, dark storm sky behindWhat actually helps:
- Name the object plainly. Say "coin", "gem", "chest", "crown", "potion", "trophy", "shield" and it will look like that object rather than a vague shape.
- Say what is in frame and what is behind it. A subject plus a background beats a list of adjectives.
- Do not ask for words. Text is blocked in every generation — the model cannot letter your game name reliably, so it does not try. Add titles yourself afterwards if you want them.
- Attach a reference if you have one. Up to 3 images per message, 4 MB each. Drag them onto the composer or paste them straight in. Say "like this" and the attached picture becomes the art direction while your written subject is kept.
Step 3 — Pick the format
Revix asks "What kind of image is this?" — it sets the shape and how the artwork is framed.
| Format | Shape | Size | What it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thumbnail | 16:9 | 1920 × 1080 | The wide image on your experience page |
| Game Icon | 1:1 | 512 × 512 | The square tile in search and the home feed |
| Gamepass / Badge | 1:1 | 150 × 150 | The small icon on a pass, product or badge |
| UI Icon | 1:1 | 256 × 256 | A small in-game interface icon, drawn on flat white so you can key it to transparency in one click |
Step 4 — Pick a look
Next comes a grid of picture swatches. Not every style is offered on every format.
| Style | What it looks like | Offered on |
|---|---|---|
| Auto | Revix picks the look that fits your idea. This is the default. | All four |
| GFX | Rendered 3D Roblox scene, cinematic lighting | Thumbnail, Game Icon, Gamepass |
| High CTR | Loud clickbait energy that pops in the feed | Thumbnail, Game Icon |
| Anime | Painted anime key art, glow and VFX | Thumbnail, Game Icon |
| Studs | Built out of Roblox parts, stud tops and all | Gamepass, UI Icon |
| Simulator | Chunky glossy icon-pack art with bold outlines | Gamepass, UI Icon |
| Simple | Flat vector icon, minimal shapes, no shading | UI Icon |
The submit button reads Generate · 5 credits, so you always see the charge before it happens.
One thing to know: if you attached a reference image, this step is skipped. The look is read off your attachment instead, and picking the format is the paid click.
Step 5 — Watch it generate, then check it
A card shows the stages: Reading your idea → Composing the frame → Painting it → Checking it over.
That last stage is real work. Every fresh generation is graded and, if something is wrong, repaired once before you ever see it — garbled text, deformed limbs, a missing subject, heavy artefacts, and for icons: being boxed inside a tile, standing on a pedestal, or having bits floating detached. The review and the repair are free.
Check it worked. Hover the finished picture. You get two actions: Generate another and a download button.
Step 6 — Iterate
- Generate another re-runs the same prompt from scratch. New picture, same idea. It costs another 5 credits.
- To change something specific, send a new message describing the change and attach the picture you already have. That keeps the look and moves the subject where you want it. This is the practical way to edit a result.
/image Same character and same lighting as the attached image, but move him to the left third of the frame and make the lava glow brighterStep 7 — Get the file onto your game page
Press the download button under the image. Then upload it yourself on Roblox's own creator site, on the experience whose thumbnails and icon you manage. Revix does not publish it for you.
The sizes above are already the shapes Roblox expects, so no cropping should be needed.
Make it yours
/image A game icon for a pet simulator: one oversized glossy pet holding a giant gold coin, bright blue background, no background clutter/image A gamepass icon for a speed boost: a glowing lightning bolt with motion trails, on a clean gradient/image A UI icon of a shopping trolley for my shop button, flat vector, no shadingIf something goes wrong
The option is locked. Image generation needs a Developer or Studio plan. The message you see is "Image generation is on the Developer and Studio plans. Upgrade to generate thumbnails and icons." Plans are at /store.
The prompt was rejected. You will see "That prompt was rejected by the image model. Try describing it differently — you weren't charged." Rewrite it more plainly and send again. You keep your credits.
It failed halfway. Every failure refunds. The message ends with "You weren't charged."
Your image has a Revix watermark on it. The mark appears on images shown to anyone who is not on an active Developer or Studio plan. Because generating an image needs one of those plans in the first place, in practice this is what you see if your plan lapsed or you cancelled — your older images get marked until you are back on a plan. The mark is drawn at display time from a clean stored original, so resubscribing and reloading removes it from everything you ever made. Under each marked image there is a one-line link: Remove watermark? Upgrade to Developer or Studio.
You asked several times in a row and got stopped. Image generation is rate limited per account. Wait a moment and try again.
