How the Plugin Connects

The plugin connects to your Revix account automatically, using the Roblox account you are signed into Studio with. There is no API key to copy and paste.

How auto-connect works

When Studio starts, the plugin reads the Roblox username of the account currently signed into Studio. It sends that username to revix.tech, which looks up the matching Revix account and links the session.

For this to work, the Roblox account signed into Studio must be the same Roblox account you used to sign in at revix.tech. If they do not match, Revix will not know who you are, and the plugin will refuse to sync.

Manual reconnect

If auto-connect fails, open the widget and click Connect Dashboard. This forces the plugin to re-attempt the handshake. Use this after:

  • Switching Roblox accounts in Studio
  • Signing into Revix for the first time on a new device
  • A network blip that dropped the connection

Heartbeats

Once connected, the plugin sends a heartbeat to revix.tech every 10 seconds. The heartbeat tells the server the plugin is still alive and which place it is currently editing.

If three heartbeats in a row fail, the plugin treats the connection as dead and disconnects. The widget will switch to a gray status dot. Click Connect Dashboard to reconnect.

Account mismatch

If you authorize Revix with one Roblox account but open Studio with a different one, the plugin will not connect. Either:

  • Sign out of Studio and sign back in with the matching Roblox account, or
  • Sign out of revix.tech and re-authorize with the Roblox account you actually use in Studio
